One of the worst things is life is being left out.
We are social animals and being excluded could mean death in an evolutionary sense.
I remember how often, when I was little there'd be a game and sides were being chosen. I was always the last kid chosen or if an odd number of kids I would have to sit out and watch the game.
Then fast forward 30 years and I'm working at a hedge fund and everyone is going out for drinks and I'm not invited.
